80 Years in the Hereford Business
THE RAUSCH ADVANTAGE
Trusted Source of Hereford Bulls
Nearly 9,000 Rausch bulls have gone to work for cattlemen across America. Our philosophy has not changed, we treat customers like family and work hard to create a reliable, consistent product that you can count on. Our family has been a generational partner with many families over the years. Your investment in our genetics means a lot to our family and we truly care about the success of your operation.
Proven Genetics, Real Performance
We spend significant time studying pedigrees, analyzing phenotypes and utilizing rock solid data to produce the best and most proven offering possible. All the bulls and most of their dams are carcass ultrasounded, genomically enhanced and performance tested. The majority of the bulls are long bodied, marked well, and competitive in growth and carcass traits, all while keeping birthweight in check.
Maternal Value
Our cowherd is the backbone of our bull program. Decades of refinement has created a strong foundation of practical females that are maternally productive - fertile, raise a big calf, and do it problem free year over year. The baldie females you will get out of our bulls will turn around and make some of the best females in commercial production.

BULL DEVELOPMENT
All our bulls are developed here at the ranch. We study these cattle from the day they are born to the day we deliver them. We work hard to offer bulls that are rugged and practical so they can go to work anywhere and hold up well.
We offer multiple age groups with the intent to create flexibility and versatility for our customers. Additionally, it enables us to spread out our calving and breeding windows.

The spring two-year-old bulls are primarily born in the late calving group in late March through May. They are slowly grown on a high roughage diet through the first winter and graze on pasture the following summer to help them develop as rugged, athletic breeding bulls. In October, we get them back to the bull runs and feed them on a 44 NEG silage/hay based ration with a good vitamin/mineral package to get them ready for heavy service this spring. They will pass a breeding soundness exam prior to sale day.

The fall bulls are calved on late summer grass and graze cornstalks through the winter with their dams. They receive supplemental creep feed to help them endure the harsh Dakota winters. After weaning, they are slowly developed on summer grass to help promote longevity. In October, we get them back to the bull runs and feed them on a 44 NEG silage/hay based ration with a good vitamin/mineral package to get them ready for heavy service this spring. They will pass a breeding soundness exam prior to sale day.

Our yearling bulls represent some of our latest and freshest genetics - many coming from first calf heifers. They did not receive creep feed in order to showcase the true merit of the dam’s milk and the bull’s natural growth curve. After weaning, they are grown out well on a 48 NEG hay/silage/earlage based ration, but not pushed for maximum gain. By late spring, they will be semen tested and ready to go to work.
